Vacation is over, and daily routines are back – and it shows in my riding. After the incredible Norway trip, most of my riding has been limited to commuting. The weather is still great, but time is short and work tends to take over. Still, the desire to ride hasn’t faded one bit.

Worsening Swingarm Bearing Issue – Time to Act

Even before the Norway trip, I had noticed a small amount of play in the swingarm. At first, it caused only minor instability, but after the trip, the issue got much worse. The handling of the bike degraded significantly: I no longer trusted it in corners, and during acceleration it felt like the rear tire was slipping. A familiar twisty road I usually enjoy turned into something uncomfortable and unpredictable.

I decided the issue had to be fixed before the next ride.

Swingarm Removed – Bearings Out

So the disassembly began. I removed the swingarm and took out the bearings. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find replacements anywhere in Finland – not from importers or parts suppliers. Eventually, I located the right parts in the Netherlands and ordered them with express shipping.

Unfortunately, they didn’t arrive in time for the weekend, but I’m hopeful they’ll be here on Monday.

Still Not Ready to End the Season

Although fall is approaching, the riding weather is still excellent – and my motivation is stronger than ever. I’m planning a full maintenance round during the winter, but right now I just want to get back on the road. It’s not time to park the bike just yet.

Stay tuned – more miles ahead, and more stories to come.
