The Kawasaki GTR 1400 steering bearing replacement continued as the new seal finally arrived in the mail. I was able to start assembling the front end over the weekend, but after a long work week, I quickly noticed my concentration wasn’t quite there. Early on, I ran into an issue with the order of assembly – the front fender and wheel didn’t go as smoothly as planned, and a few things had to be redone.

After installing the new bearing and front forks, I mounted the front fender, only to realize that the wheel wouldn’t fit with the fender already in place. Back to disassembly – one of those moments where patience would’ve saved some effort. 😅

The wiring harness also ended up on the wrong side of the fork. I had to remove the top triple clamp again to route everything correctly. Despite these small setbacks, I managed to get the bike back together. It was late, though, so the test ride had to wait for the next day.

Reassembly complete – the GTR is back on its wheels and ready for the road.

Before heading out for a ride, I still plan to double-check a few torque specs. I haven’t yet found exact torque values for the steering stem nut or the top triple clamp bolts. If anyone happens to know them, I’d greatly appreciate the info!
